The concept behind Offline: Baghdad (Not Just Another Film Festival) emerged from the compelling need for Iraqi filmmakers, journalists, translators and fixers to communicate to outside audiences through their firsthand accounts the reality of the physical and emotional fragmentation of their homeland, Iraq.

This is the first Iraqi documentary film festival of its kind in Italy. Offline: Baghdad presents over 25 films on Iraq (most previously unscreened in Europe) produced between 2003 and 2007 plus 10 episodes of the documentary web series, Hometown Baghdad. The filmmakers will introduce their works and will take part in post-screening discussions and QandA sessions with the audience.

Daylight is pleased to announce that images from the exhibition, Photographs by Iraqi Civilians, 2004 will be exhibited at the festival. For more information: www.offlinebaghdad.org
